The first week of classes finished at East Tennessee State University, and several events have happened at the Campus House, also known as Christian Student Fellowship.

Jan. 16 was the first Free Lunch of the semester. Free Lunch is a weekly event, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., giving students a taste of home since lunch is provided by Christian churches in the Tri-Cities area. Personally, it's one of my favorite events. Students from the United States and international students come to enjoy home-cooked meals. For this week's free lunch, Walnut Christian Church brought in a bunch of soups. Bowls of an assortment of crackers sat at each lunch table.

Soups provided by Walnut Christian Church, homemade for students.

It was a nice meal on a chilly day.

Tuesday evening, Campus House hosted a pancake and hot chocolate party.

Each semester, they start students off on a good note with pancakes or ice cream (depending on the season). Students that are regulars at Campus House, showed up, including several international students. It was an event to bring the two aspects (traditional students and international students) of Campus House together.

Mike, campus minister, and MacKenzie, worship leader, pose goofily as they wait for the pancakes to cook.

American and international students gather to play a German version of Uno.

Wednesday at 7 p.m., was Immerse, but I missed out because the snow kept me from traveling. I'll have an update on Jan. 24 about Immerse along with some photos.

World Cafe was on Jan. 19, and for the first one of the semester, around 50 people came to hang out. World Cafe starts at 8 p.m. and ends at midnight. Most people arrive around 9:30, but international students started showing up around 9 p.m. that night. I personally can't wait to see it get busier as the semester continues.

Sequence is preferred by most attendees at World Cafe.

Some students pose in the middle of their game.

Other students opted to play a few games of Mafia.

In the future, I won't be posting everything that happened in a single week. I'll occasionally post after each event to share who came, who brought lunch, who cooked dinner, etc. I look forward to showing people the Campus House and the people that inhabit it.

Thanks for reading!
