Free Lunch this week was prepared by Trivia, but First Christian Church of Elizabethton provided the money to feed hungry students. Katie brought in the desserts (and the pies were absolutely delicious).

Chicken sandwiches and black bean burgers were the meal choices of the day, as well as salad and plenty of veggies. I actually branched out and used honey mustard dressing on my salad. Thanks, Chick-fil-a!

Yes, that is strawberry pie and Oreo pie in the distance.

This week was the first time I attempted to move around the room to talk to various people. I wanted to see how I'd do, and I did manage to talk to a lot of friends. I took time to get to know new people a little better, also. It took a lot out of me, but the conversations were good. I'll take the exhaustion if I get to talk to some really interesting and fantastic people.

Lunch dies down a little and the drums come out.

My camera isn't intimidating as many students anymore.

Something I haven't mentioned before are the "thank you" cards that get signed at each lunch. Anyone that comes has the opportunity to write a quick note to whichever church provided food that day. International students will sometimes sign in their native language. Trivia mentioned that sometimes when visiting those churches, the cards will be hanging up for people to see. It's awesome what a simple thank you can do.

See you next time!
